Happy Spring!

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I have updated our page, so I thought I would let you know what’s going on with the group.

We were in a wonderful concert last night…The Lighthouse Promotion Spring Singing in Kingsport with Tony McGee & New Covenant and The Primitive Quartet. It was a great concert; we enjoyed meeting new folks and getting together with friends and family.

We will go into the studio on the next 3 Wednesdays to record vocals for our new project. We are recording at Crossroad Studios in Arden NC. We are very excited about this new project. It will include some songs yon may have heard before and will also have some new songs written by Mike. We hope to have the project out by June. We have also added a new product to our table…T-Shirts…We have a nice adult black tee with “The Gibson Living Well” on the front. We have a kid’s shirt too! It is yellow with a big smiley face on the front and “The Gibson Living Well” on the back. Check out our Myspace site for pics later in the week.

God is blessing our group and we love it. Our summer schedule is filling up fast. Check back often for updates.  May God bless you & Happy Spring …

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas, from The Gibsons - Mike, Greta & Terry

Thanksgiving & Christmas

Hello everyone, Just a note to update the you on The Gibsons. Our new Christmas song is now available. Thanksgiving & Christmas was written by Mike, you will find the story behind the song written below. We hope that the song is a blessing to you this holiday season! You can hear the entire song by visiting to our Myspace page. We do have Single CDs available for purchase, the single includes the orginal song along with a high and low performance track.  Crossroads Records will  also be releasing it on their Christmas Compilation Disc.

Here is the story behind the song…

I come from a very large family.  My dad has five brothers and five sisters.  You can imagine what Christmas time was like at Grandma’s house.  What a wonderful time we would all have and my grandparents were not satisfied until everyone of the family made it home for Christmas.  There is nothing like 50 of your closest relatives packed into a small 3 bedroom home.  I looked forward to Christmas time at Grandma’s more than any other time of the year.  When I got married, I quickly found out that my wife had plenty of family traditions herself.  She informed me that we were going to her family’s  for Christmas, I didn’t think much about it  until I realized for the first time in my life that I would not be at Grandma’s for Christmas.  I’ll never forget the feeling I had in my heart as I passed Grandma’s house.  The parking lot was full, the lights were on and through the big picture window I could see that the party was already on.  Driving toward my inlaws house I felt God speaking to me saying that there is coming a holiday in Heaven one day and we’ll all be together forever.  I am so happy to know that when that great celebration begins I will be there.  It is funny that I don’t recall one gift I received all the years at Grandma’s house, but I sure do remember all the family and how much love I felt to be part of the family.  Just remember this holiday season, it’s not the presents that make this season so special, it’s family.  I sure hope you enjoy our new song “Thanksgiving and Christmas” and most of all like the song says, in Heaven, “I hope to see you there.”

Fill my Cup…

Hello everyone! We were in Virgina at a Church called Tabernacle Baptist with Bro. Danny Sexton this past weekend. There was such a sweet spirit of the Lord in that place. Our Cup was filled with spiritual blessings. I have thought alot about the service that we had. You know sometimes the Lord is just waiting on us to turn our cup over so that he can fill it up! We spend most of our time to busy to even let the Lord pour out His blessings on us. My challenge to you is to turn your cup over or take the lid off so that the Lord can bless you!

Check out our upcoming  events … we  have a singing coming up on October the 6th at the Hancock County Fall Festival site with Alan Lamb,  The Gibsons, Tony  McGee and New Covenant and The Primitive Quartet. This will be a great singing for everyone.

Until later

Wow… what a busy time of the year. Everything has been going great for us. We had our first “Road Trip” this past weekend, we were in Indianapolis, IN at Bread of Life Pentecostal Church, what a joy it was to worship with those folks.  We will be at our home church on the 16th for our “Homecoming” or back here in the hills of east Tennessee we call it “all day meeting and dinner on the ground”.  What a time we have worshipping and visiting with all our friends and family.

This week we sang at the Annual Crusade at our local middle/school. The crusade is a week long evangelistic event geared to  students, approximately 20 students received  Christ during this event. Mike provided the music for the day services. We sang at the Monday night service.

Our annual Hancock county fall festival is fast approaching… save the date… October 6 & 7. Stay tuned for more info!

We are at it again… we are getting prepared to go back to the studio to record. We hope to be back at Crossroads in the next couple of months to record a Christmas song along with a couple new songs that Mike has written.

We are doing  several radio interviews promoting our new project. Our most recent being one with WVSG(Pecks Mill, WV)  on LIVE365 Radio. Our next will be Saturday the 18th with WJBZ( Knoxville, TN). These interviews are providing us with a great opportunity to meet new people and make lots of friends while promoting our new project!

Until next time,

Searching for Peace?

It seems that the whole world today is in search peace. People are willing to try anything to have one moment of peace in their lives.  The bible says that true peace can only be found in Christ… so if you are searching today may I make a suggestion.  Trade God the broken pieces of your life for His Peace!

May God Bless You,

Greta :)
